LONG
TERM CARE - RISKS
Today, more people are
living to 100 years old than ever before. As our average age increases,
so does the chance that we will need long term care in the future.
"It
won't happen to me." This
statement is common among us. Nobody thinks "it" will
happen to them. And the odds show otherwise.
Almost 2 out of 5 people
will need some form of long term care in their lifetime. That is
about a 40% risk of needing long term care!

It is a
fact that people are living longer than previous generations. Medications
and hospital techniques are helping people live much longer lives.
This will continue to be the case in the future. As age continues
to extend into the 80's and beyond, the chances of needing long
term care will increase.

The
issue is no longer how long you will live, it is "what will
the quality of life be for you as you age"? Parents can no
longer depend on their children and spouses can not help each other
if one needs help standing and sitting in their older ages. Long
term care insurance can help you keep your dignity and independence.
It can save your financial savings. Most importantly, it will relieve
much physical and emotional stress from your family should you need
help in your later years.
